ANALYSIS OF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT AN OIL WELL

In this paper, the reason of an accident occurring in a perforation work in an oil field was analyzed based on the hydrodynamic theory. The fluctuating pressure was calculated while the oil pipe dropping in the oil well. The pressure increases if the speed of oil pipe increases or the diameter of oil pipe increases. The results show that as the total pressure is bigger than the critical pressure of the perforator at the initiation device before it reaches the objective depth so the gun-perforator worked in advance. The calculated value of fluctuation pressure agrees with the measured value. In order to avoid similar accident when dropping oil pipe, the minimum requirement of oil pipe diameter is presented and it is advised that the dropping speed of oil pipe should not bigger than the standard value to improve security. The research is beneficial to improve the petroleum production technological.
