Metal-Carbon Eutectic Cells for Platinum/Palladium Thermocouple Calibrations
In this wore a cobalt-carbon eutectic (1324℃) and a palladium-carbon eutectic (1492℃) cells were constructed and evaluated for platinum/palladium thermocouple calibrations; in particular the reproducibility of their phase transitions and the effect of heat conduction along the thermocouple stem were measured. A budget of uncertainty shows the performances of this new calibration method.
