The Ezperimental Study on Measuring Thermal Diffusivity by the Flash Method

The paper aimed at verifying the reliability of the measurement apparatus of thermal diffusivity of solid materials which has been developed in the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), China. The thermal diffusivity of the reference material(austenitic stainless steel) which offered by PTB has been measured on the newly developed laser thermal instrument with IR detector in NIM, in the temperature range from 500℃ to 1000℃. The standard deviation of the experimental data is less than 3%. The measurement results and the reference values is less than 4%.
