Conducting Biological Science Practicum at a Distance at Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia
This paper addresses innovative methods of conducting biological science practicum at a distance at Universitas Terbuka (UT), Indonesia. Learning in biological science is a combination of understanding,conceptualisation, and practical experience. In order to produce quality and competent professional graduate in biological science, some courses have practicum requirements. Practicum is designed to equip students with the necessary biological concepts, its application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of those concepts. Practicum can be conducted in the laboratory as well as in the real world in the field. Practicum courses are designed and developed by the Study Program, while its implementation involves different roles and functions of the Study Program itself, Regional Offices and Partner Universities/Institutions.
