Structures and erection methods of concrete filled steel tubular arch bridges

From 1990, more than 230 Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) arch bridges have been built in China. In this paper, five main types of CFST arch bridges are introduced with some typical bridges, i.e. deck (true) arch, half-through true arch, through deck-stiffened arch, through rigid-frame tied arch and fly-bird-type arch (half-through tied rigid-frame arch). Based on statistics data of built bridges, arch rib cross-section and materials, ratio of rise-to-span, and erection methods are analyzed.
