AAnet: A Scalable Peer-to-Peer Player Discovery Scheme in Multiplayer Games
This paper presents the design and evaluation of AAnet, a scalablc peer-to-peer sell-organizing network which support a new way for searching players of multiplayer-games on Internet.Players can join the AAnet overlay and get a randomly subset of total online users. Players may connect those users and play with them. And a fully implementation is presented which is an application adopted AAnet called AAClient. Its a game application that helps muhiplayer-games players playing with others on Internet using the original part of some multiplayergames independent and faster. Its running in Fudan University campus network with a 200 players online daily which validates it feasible and promising in realistic application scenarios. We gathered reality datum and make some simulation results to analysis our system and compares to traditional client/server architecture. These all prove that AAnet is a completely decentralized scalable and efficiency peer-to-peer system.
