Relationship of Alkaline Eztractive Content with Growth Traits, Basic Density and Tissue Proportions in Plantation-grown Eucalyptus urophylla
Introduction Eucalyptus urophylla is one of the most important plantation-grown tree species for pulp and papermaking in China. However, the alkaline extractive content is the key factor which affects the properties and cost of paper. In order to explore the relationship between the alkaline extractive content and growth traits and wood properties of eucalyptus, 1%NaOH extractive content, growth traits, basic density and tissue proportion for fifteen 13-yaer-old eucalyptus were systemically determined and their relationships were analyzed and explored by means of regression analysis and correlation analysis. Therefore, this study will provide theoretical guide for the genetical improvement and directive breeding for Eucalyptus.
