Wood Anatomy Research In Nepal
Introduction Nepal is a developing country occupying an area of 147,181 square km. The forest cover is 29% of the total land area. Globally, Nepal ranks twenty-fifth in biodiversity with about 118 ecosystems, 75 vegetation types and 35 forest types. There are 6,501 species of flowering plants. Among them approximately one thousand species are tree. Nearly 200 species are capable of producing timber. Wood is a versatile material. The cellular structure of wood is responsible for its properties, appearance, and variability within a single tree, between trees and between species.
