Effects of Internal Addition of Bulking Promoter on Physical Properties and Porous Structure of Handsheet
Introduction If the thickness of bulky paper is the same as that of conventional paper, the decreased weight of bulky paper is environmentally important for saving wood resources and other materials. The recent rapid increase for utilization of waste paper brings about some problems such as the increased density and decreased strength properties. Particularly, the decreased stiffness of printing and copy papers is more serious problem. In order to maintain a level of paper thickness, addition of pulp or filler to paper stock must be required.
