Influence of Microwave Plasma Treatment on Wettability of Bamboo Timber
1. Introduction Modification of bamboo timber can increase its utilization and improve the quality of bamboo-based composite panels. There has been some interests in the surface modification of wood and other materials with Microware Plasma (MWP) treatments. Various methods to modify bamboo timber surfaces have been reported (Zhang et al., 1990, Chert et al., 1992, Yu et al., 2002), but information on surface treatment for bamboo-based materials with MWP is limited (Huang et al., 2006). This paper investigated the effects of MWP treatments on wettability of the bamboo timber.
