Lumber Bending Properties and MSR Yield of Black Spruce in Relation to Growth, Wood Characteristics, Visual grades and Drying Treatments
Introduction Black spruce is one of the most important natural wood resources for building lumber and pulpwood in eastern Canada and Northeast of the American. Lumber producers in these districts usually classed the natural wood resources into two wood growth types: normal-grown Black spruce and slow-grown Yellow spruce. They have experienced that lumber of yellow spruce was difficult to attach the target moisture content when dried with normal black spruce and often degraded.
