Physical and Mechanical Properties of Heat-Treated Five Hardwood Species
Heat treated was performed at 185℃ on five hardwood species(Schima superha, Dryobalanops keithii, Fraxinus mandshurica,Betula platyphylla and Couratari oblongifolia). Dimensional stability and modulus of elasticity (MOE) before and after treatment indicated significant increase. The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) decreased by 26.65%, radial swelling value by 19.72%, tangential swelling value by 26.38%.
