Spectrum Analysis of Diozane Eztractives from Robinia pseudacacia on Thermal Induced Discoloration
Introduction The extractives play a very important role in the discoloration of wood because of the unsaturated structures and the liability to the light and heat. Yellow locust (Robinia pseudacacia, L) is a kind of quality wood of industrial purpose, but it inclines to the discoloration in the drying process. However, little data have been obtained with respect to the discoloration of yellow locust. This work is aimed to elucidate the mechanism of thermal induced discoloration of the dioxane extractives through the investigation of the structure variation with the aid of optical spectra.
