Study on Dimensional Changes of Larch Dried in a Radio-Frequency/Vacuum Drier
This study was carried out to measure the shrinkages and movements of the larch specimens dried in a radio-frequency/vacuum drier, and to determine the method of determination of their dimensional changes. The results of this study were as the followings: I)The shrinkages presented lower values than those in conventional drying while the movement coefficients showed higher than shrinkage coefficients. 2) Two kinds of methods to determine dimensional changes, one was appropriate for above 20 percent moisture content (MC) and the other was accurate up to 20 percent MC, were proposed in order to provide reasonable practical data for designing of the dimensional stability of final larch products.
