Study on MUF Enhanced High-Temperature Heat Treatment Technology
Introduction The current major study on modification of wood is to dip wood in thermosetting resins to improve woods density, hardness and dimensional stability. With the enhancement of environmental awareness of people, wood modification experts set sights on a more environment-friendly product, thermal wood, which was treated at about 200℃, and it has made a great success in the improvement of the dimensional stability. However, after high temperature treatment, the timbers strength declines, which limits the application of thermal wood to large extent, in this paper, we first dipped plantation timber in resin, and then treated the timber under high-temperature and vacuum, which can increase the dimensional stability of wood and effectively prevent timber strength from decline. At the same time, resin can be fully cured at high temperature. The formaldehyde emission of impregnated wood is almost zero after high temperature treatment, which meets the requirements of environmental protection.
