A Finite Element Model for Plywood Hot Pressing
Introduction During plywood manufacturing, hot pressing process is crucial not only to productivity and material recovery, but also to panel quality and performance. To help better understand their hot-pressing processes, the main objective of this work was to develop a finite element model to predict heat transfer of plywood during hot-pressing, and to explore the changes of temperature throughout the pressing cycle. Especially, the stress variation in mat during hot pressing was explored in this work.
