Study on the Modification of Tannin Eztract and its Dispersive Performances to cement

Introduction The development of biomass-based chemicals has become the hot spot in the field of fine chemical engineering. Tannin extract is a kind of traditional biomass-based chemical with phenolic hydroxyl group mainly extracted from forest residuals such as plant cortex, nutshell. Tannin extract was applied widely and mainly used to be plant tanning agent at present. Because most kinds of tannin extract are compound and black, and its performance can not be competitive with products from petroleum industry, so its demand in the market is decreasing, it is essential to study the modification of tannin extract and develop its new application. The Myrtan tannin extract was modified to be water-reducer and its dispersive performance to cement was measured in this paper, which can be used to instruct to develop new application for tannin extract.
