Synthesis and Applications of PEI/MCC
A new type of functional polymer adsorption material of PEI/MCC was synthesized with polyethyleneimine (PEI) as a functional group and modified cellulose as molecular carrier. PEI was grafted on cellulose using epoxy chloropropane. PEI/MCC was characterized by XRD, FTIR and element analysis. PEI/MCC has strong adsorption ability toward uric acid. The synthesis procedure was as follows: the mass ratio of epoxycellulose to PEI was 1:6, 0.23 mol of 1,4-Dioxane, 0.047mol of sodium carbonate, 20 mL of H2O, temperature at 60℃, time for 6 h in nitrogen atmosphere, filtered the product and bathed it using acetone and water until pH 7, then dried it for 24 h under 40℃ vacuums, the reaction product exists as white-to-brown powder. Static adsorption experiment results showed that PEi/MCC has strong adsorption ability toward uric acid, as the increase of nitrogen content, the adsorption capacity increased; The max adsorption capability was 9.53 mg/g, and the adsorption capacity of activated carbon is 75.18 mg/g.
