The Evaluation of Organosolv Pretreatment on Various Catalysts

Introduction Recently, the shortage of fossil fuels and the global warming by the carbon dioxide have raised the interests in alternative energy significantly. Bioethanol has been regarded as a main alternative energy, and many studies about the bioethanol production have been progressed, in particular, lignocellulosic has been paid a special attention in a raw material for the production of bioethanol, since it contains abundant carbohydrates that can be utilized as a source of bioethanol. However, lignocellulosic is the strong lignin-carbohydrate complex, so it needs the pretreatment for the improvement of the enzymatic accessibility.
