The Influence of Pretreatment Conditions and Eztractives on the Induced Discoloration of Betulacostata Trautv
Introduction The lumber of Betulacostata Trautv is one of easily processed wood which is widely used in China nowadays. But it has been known for a long time that the discoloration of the wood is incidental. The Induced Discoloration is a method which can lead wood color to become more uniform and beautiful through physical or chemical means by which chemical substances can be evoked to change and the auxochromic groups and the chromophoric groups of lignin can be adjusted. The utilizing value of Betulacostata Trautv can be advanced by the Induced Discoloration under the processing conditions of the heat steam with different pressure and temperature. And the extractive of the wood is an important factor for the discoloration.
