Identification of the Chemical Components in the Benzene/Ethanol Eztractives of Castanopsis Fissa Wood by Py-GCIMS
Introduction In the last twenty years researchers in China have begun to pay more attention to the Castanopsisfissa trees. Chen Hongyue et al studied how to develop a new Caslanopsisfissa breed that grows well in the mixed forest. XIAO Sui qing et al discussed the relationships of the leaf area index and the leaf biomass to the species shade endurance and growth, the relationship of water holding capacity and the structures of leaves and crowns, and the relationship of water holding capacity and the properties of water and soil. SU Xiaoqing studied the spatial distribution and size of Castanopsisfissa population in subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests. RUAN Xiu-chun et al found that the cutting medium and the cutting treatment had a significant effect on the survival rate. TAN Wen-xiong et al reviewed Castanopsis fissas biological characteristics, major uses, ecological value, the nature of fast growing and high yielding, and skills for artificial afforestation. HUANG Gulping et al studied Castanopsis fissa seeds size, kernel weight, elite degree and field seedling. ZHAN Huaiyu found that Castanopsisfissa was a fine pulp wood-based material on its fiber morphological, pulping and bleaching characteristics. Xie Tao extracted a brown matter from the skin of Castanopsisfissa seed with an organic solvent. LI Kai-fu et al made medium density fiberboard and ecological security wooden packaging materials with Castanopsisfissa fibres. Currently Castanopsis fissa is mainly used for pulp wood. The objective of this study was to explore the potential of Castanopsisfissa as a useful resource for other value-added products. Py-GC/MS was used to identify the important chemical components in the benzene/ethanol extractives of Castanopsisfissa.
