Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Studies of Cellulose Diacetate/Poly(caprolactone) Dioi Graft Copolymer

1 Introduction Cellulose diacetate (CDA) has been widely used in many areas, but the high flow temperature possessed by CDA results in a constraint on its processing properties. Poly caprolactone diol (PCL) owns ester bonds in molecular structure, which can be easily hydrolyzed. Through graft modification of CDA with PCL, the resulted graft copolymer could reduce significantly the flow temperature of CDA and improve mechanical processing properties while maintaining good biocompatibility and biodegradation of CDA. So far, some work of the modification of CDA has been reported in the literature, but there is little study of grafting PCL onto CDA through isocyanate group.
