Dielectric Properties of Wood FlourlPolypropylene Composite at Oven-dry State

Introduction Wood-plastic composites (WPCs) combine the advantages of wood and plastic and thus obtain excellent physical and mechanical properties. There are basically two types of WPCs, one is compound with wood flour and plastic, and the other is polymerized wood by introducing monomers into wood structure. The former type of WPCs was studied in this paper since it occupies the main market due to lower cost, more profound technologies and less environmental concerns. WPCs are widely applied in construction, auto industry, packaging, traffic, storage, adorning material, daily appliance and so on for their excellent properties. Yet, the large difference of interfacial energy between wood and plastic deeply influences the performance of WPCs. Therefore, the interfacial compatibility of wood and plastic is a crucial point to improve the properties of WPCs..
