The Research on Fire-retardant Structural Plywood
Introduction The plywood are widely used in furniture manufacturing, interior decoration and clapboards in the passenger trains and ships. But as flammable materials, the plywood are easily to catch fire which will lead to not only serious economic losses but also casualties. It was found that 70% of the fire was caused by the wooden materials laking the retartant properties. In order to reduce fire, a majority of countries around the world required to use fire retartant materials by laws and clearly stipulated the fire resistance grade in the architecture structure and components and have developed corresponding test standards. International Safety of Life at Sea Treaty also defined clearly on the ships fire-retardant materials. In China, the Ministry of Public Security in 1986 decreed the fire management rules in buildings. To meet the sepcial requirement of 300 km high-speed train on the Panels, the fire retartant structurre plywood was researched by Beihua University cooperated with Sunxin Wood Co., Ltd for Tangtan mountain passenger train company.
