Rheological Properties of Maleic Anhydride Grafted PPIPE Blends and their Composites with Wood Fiber
Introduction In recent years, the use of wood fiber as reinforcement filler in plastics has received extensive attention. The fillers usually in the form of short fibers or particles, which have an aspect ratio larger than 1.0 and very irregular surfaces with complex internal composition and polar nature, are believed to strongly interact with each other by mechanical effect and hydrogen bonding. Thus, they can potentially enhance the viscoelastic characteristics of the polymeric matrix, the rheological behavior of the composites is much more complicated than polymers. The objective of this study is to investigate the rheological properties of maleic anhydride grafted PP/PE blends and their composites with wood fiber.
