Technical Study of Wheat Straw-Cement Composite
Introduction Wheat straw and cement were used as raw material to press composite. On the basis of the available data, optimized process conditions were confirmcd: cement/particle ratio is 7:1, water/cement ratio is 0.4:1, size of wheat straw is between 20-30 mesh, wheat straw particles are pretreated with alkalescent solution, CaCl2 is added at 7% amount based on cement mass, pressure is 2.5 MPa, and pressing time is 4h. The result boards are conditioned for 21 days to the final moisture content of 8%-12%. The validated testing we arranged to carry out according to the the optimized process conditions above had proved that the properties of the composite made from this technology can meet the requirement of the wood/cement composite standard (JC411-91).
