China: The Turning Point of its Furniture Industry

Published last December, the statistics of the US furniture industry reveal that the sub-prime mortgage crisis has affected the furniture market nationwide and especially weakened the performance of Chinese wood furniture export to the US. From January to September 2007, the overall sales of wood home furniture in the US were reduced by 3.6 percent and total volume of imports also dropped 0.4 percent.
