Development of advanced operation support system
In a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system for the operators console and supervisors console in main control room of a nuclear power plant, the number of display pages becomes enormous (about several hundred) because the plant system structure is complicated. Therefore, a HMI system usually provides users some transition mechanism for accessing a specific display page. In this paper, we describe a new transition mechanism using a dynamic link button that can change its successor corresponding to the operators task and the dynamic plant status. In this new transition method, the system forecasts the next operation, and the links of the button are changed to the pages that are appropriate for the next operation. We think that this system supports users in achieving more effective operation than the conventional method.
