The Application of Genetic Algorithm in Optimizing the Layout of Human Machine Interface

Human machine interface (HMI)plays a very important role in power plant control. A novel automatic layout method is proposed in the paper to arrange the position of the HMI component in multiple load cases. Six HMI design principles are used to construct optimizing objective function based on matching degree. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)is introduced to calculate the components weights used in optimizing objective function. Then Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the objective function. Finally, an example is provided to show that the optimizing method is available and reasonable.
