Application of Spatial Statistics for Regional Economic Inequalities

Based on the integration of spatial statistical analysis and GIS,it is more efficient to study global feature and underlying local patterns of regional spatial economic association from spatial viewpoint. We are to explore spatial character of regional economic inequalities through spatial autocorrelation analysis of net income changes per farmer in town from 1999 to 2000 in the Ongniud Banner, Inner Mongolia, in China. Main results from this study are as follows: Global spatial statistical index Morans I can be used to describe spatial autocorrelation of net income change per farmer in the global study area. Local statistical index LISA is very efficient to explore the connection between local area and adjacent areas. Moran scatter plot can decompose spatial association and explore interactional areas.
