The comparative study of quality check after census project between China and the U.S.
The census can not cover the whole population because of the intricacies and limited resources of the census, which makes some people undercounted or counted twice and have differences between the census count and the true population number. Most of countries or areas in the world carried out a quality check after the census to estimate the true population number. The above work was implemented by the U.S. and China in 2000. Dual system estimator was figured according to the data got between the census and the quality check. This article will compare the 2000 quality check plans of the U.S. and China regarding sample design, collecting data, post-stratification, the dual system estimator and put forward some advice on the quality check of the 2010 Chinas census based on experiences of the U.S. and the 2000 quality check of China.
