Analysis on How FDI Impact Productivity in China Manufacturing Sector based on Co-integration Test and ECM

摘要：

Based on Chinese manufacturing-related data during 1980-2007, this paper firstly dose cointegration analysis and error correction model on the foreign direct investment (FDI) and labor productivity, then analyzes the effect of the FDI in raising labor productivity. The results show: there is a one-way causal relationship among FDI and labor productivity. The promotions of the FDI to labor productivity are positive whether from a long-term equilibrium or from the short-term fluctuations. Moreover, further accumulation of FDI plays a prominent role to improve labor productivity in the longterm.
