An Investigation on the Equality of Elementary Education in China

Educational equality is an important aspect of constructing harmonious society. Based on the related data of elementary education which include primary and middle schools from 2072 counties of China in 2005, this paper first uses some descriptive statistical methods to analyze the equality among provinces and in a province; a quantile regression model is then designed to study the same problem in counties of China, we try to capture the corresponding influence factors and their effects for elementary education at several quantiles. Some conclusions are summarized and suggestions are proposed.
