The Improved Quality-oriented X-bar and R Control Chart
Quality-oriented statistical tolerance (QOST) provides a standardized interface between process quality indices (PQIs) and control chart design. The moving average charts of sample means and ranges based on QOST are presented for dynamically assuring the given PQIs. The quality-oriented SPC modeling via QOST with the procedures on two phases of -Rcontrol chart are developed, and a case x study is given for illustration of the new SPC approach which can maintain the process to be in controlled state, and also assure the designated PQIs.
