HE EFFECT OF HEATING RATES ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF PYROLYSIS PRODUCTS AND NOz PRECURSORS

Introduction The pollutant formed by coal combustion is the primary source of atmosphere pollution, where 87 % of total SO2 emission and 67 % of Nox come from coal combustion. Seriously, more than 90 % of acid rain is caused by the aforementioned Nox and SO2. In order to improve the ecological environment and protect human beingshealth, the Chinese government prescribes more critical policy for decreasing the Nox emission. According to the mechanism of Nox control, its effect and the reaction region, low Nox emission technology can be divided into low Nox combustion technology and flue gas de-Nox technology. Low Nox combustion technology can reduce 30 % -60 % of Nox emission, and meanwhile it is economic and practicable. Whereas the flue gas de-Nox technology is capable to reduce more than 90 %of NO emission, but the costs of initial investment and running are quite expensive. Considering the actual condition of China, low Nox combustion technology with high economy and acceptable reduction efficiency is selected as the optimal method to control the Nox emission in power plant.
