EFFECT OF GASIFICATION PARAMETERS ON IGCC PERFRMANCE

IntroductionIGCC is one of the most promising coal-fired power generation technologies, due to its high efficiency and the potential possibility for CO2 capture and sequestration 1-2. Many researchers in and aboard did researches on gasification and the IGCC system. For example, Jiao Shujian3 analyzed the different technical characteristics between Shell gasifier and Texaco gasifier in detail, and discussed the cost and effect on the IGCC plant. Edward Furimsky4 studied the gasification of oil sand coke. Gary J. Stiegel5 described the status and the future development of the gasification and its application on IGCC. Liang Zheng and Edward Furmsky 6 calculated four kinds gasifiers of Shell, Texaco, BGL and KRW using Aspen Plus software, and got the effect of the composition of syngas at the gasifier exit on the IGCC system. Anonio Valero and Sergio Uson7 from SaraGesa university in Spain established a gasification model of the coal, tar and biomass. Combined with experimental results, they pointed out that the gasification with mixing fuels is useful for CO2 capture in IGCC system and suitable for the practical operation.
