CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF OXYGEN ENRICHED CARBON DIOXIDE FOR THE OXY-FUEL COMBUSITON
IntroductionOxyfuel combustion is among those promising options for capturing CO2 from the use of fossil fuel1. Despite of its many advantages compared with traditional air combustion, such as less quantities of Nox and Sox, significantly high energy consumption and investment cost of O2 production are the main challenges for this technology. A novel high temperature sorption-based process referred to as ceramic autothermal recovery (CAR) for O2 production was proposed by BOC2and Lin et al3, the total power consumption of the CAR plant is about 74% of that of the cryogenic air separation plant and capital cost can be reduced for more than 50%2.
