EFFECTS OF GAS TURBINE NOz CONTROL SCHEMES ON SYSTEM PERFORMANCE OF IGCC

IntroductionIGCC(Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) is an integration of series of subsystems including gas turbine, coal gasifier clean-up units, HRSG(heat recovery steam generation), steam turbine and so on. The whole system performance of IGCC depends on the performance of each subsystem and their integration and optimization. Researches on the improvement of subsystem and integrated technologies play key role on the development of IGCC 1-5.Gas turbine is the core subsystem in the IGCC, the operating characteristic of which is the most important factor on the whole IGCC system performance, where NOX emission of the gas turbine is being paid special attention and is considered as the main market limiting factor for the next-generation high temperature gas turbine. Currently three typical kinds of the NOX emission technologies are developed. The first is water or steam injection, which is a widely applied NOX control method with a maximal NOX reduction up to 70% under stable operation condition 6. Lupandin7 studied the diffusion flame and the premix flame of the humidified combustion, and found that moisture content had great influence on the NOX and CO emission. The second method is CO2 or nitrogen re-injection.
