CHARACTERISTICS of COAL CHAR GASIFICATION WITH H2O/H2 and H2O
1. IntroductionHydrogen as one of the gasification products exists largely at the process of gasification. Therefore It is significant for us to research coal gasification reaction at the coexistence of steam and hydrogen during practical process of coal gasification industry. Lussier et al. 1 estimated that Steam gasification rate simultaneously declines as a result of adsorbing hydrogen blocking a portion of reactive surface sites. Bazardorj et al. 2estimated that the non-catalytic gasification was greatly decelerated by the presence of H2 in the gas phase due to its dissociative chemisorption onto free carbon sites forming H-laden carbon. Everson et al.3 found that the marked inhibiting effect of the carbon monoxide and hydrogen on the carbon dioxide/carbon monoxide and steam/hydrogen gasification reactions. Young et al. 4found that Hydrogen severely inhibits the reaction of steam with both chars. Huettinger et al. 5 interpreted this Inhibition by hydrogen is leaded by blocking of active sites at the carbon surface. The research works about coal steam gasification with hydrogen are more, however the studies about mechanism of coal gasification with steam and hydrogen mixture are less and not adequate. In this present paper, we studied characteristics and mechanism of Chinese Shenfu coal char gasification with mixture gases of steam and hydrogen at 900-950℃ on ambient pressure.
