THE STUDY OF SNCR PROCESS WITH AMMNIA AS REDUCING AGENT

IntroductionSelective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) is a well-known technique to reduce Nox emissions in a variety combustion system. Many various features related to selective non-catalytic injection of NH3 and urea as reducing agents have been studied in laboratory and pilot-scale tests. Results obtained in semi-large facilities indicated that NO reductions ranging between 50% and 70% can be achieved1 23, while laboratory studies showed NO reductions can be over 80% under proper conditions4. The reason for it is that the mixing problem limits the improvement of Nox reduction efficiency to a great extent and this problem had been studied by some scholars56 The jet flow (containing the SNCR reducing agent) is injected into the bulk flow from lateral wall of the flue in most of the experiments carried out by other scholars, which can not get a good mixing effect in a short time. So we proposed a new mixing way in which the nozzle was installed in the furnace and the jet flow sprayed out by the nozzle is reversed to the bulk flow. A new corundum nozzle match for the mixing approach had also been introduced. Using gas phase ammonia as reducing agent not only can avoid emission of N2O but also can avoid the decrease of local temperature for solutions endoderm, and this work has focused on the mixing and reaction of SNCR process with gas phase ammonia.
