THE EFFECT OF COMPOSITE ADDITIVE ON THE SELECTIVE NON-CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SNCR)
IntroductionThe nitrogen oxide (NOx) emited from the electric utility coal fired boilers is destroying the entironment and the humans health. The selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) is a economical postcombustion Nox reduction techonoly, but the narrow and restricted reaction temperature window which is indicated at 1173-1373K(900-1100℃)1 and the lower Nox reduction efficiency inhibit the SNCR application. It is reported that the influence of the single additive: CH4, CO or H2 on SNCR reaction process is obvious 2,3. The single additives which are often used for SNCR are included in the coke oven gas, the water gas, the biomass gas, blast furnace gas, producer gas, etc. Those gases have extensive sources, practicality and economics, so those can be used as the composite additives in SNCR. It is significant for the actual application of the SNCR to study the gases as the composite additives which can effect the reaction temperature window, Nox reduction efficiency and the ammonia slip.
