APPLICATION OF GAIN SCHEDULING FOR MODELING THE NONLINEAR DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF NOX EMISSIONS OF UTILITY BOILERS

IntroductionStatic models and dynamic models are two methods generally used in constructing models for the characteristics of Nox emissions of utility boilers. Due to the complexity of the formation principle of Nox, neither static models nor dynamic models can provide accurate principle models for on-line calculation, so experimental models are usually used1,2. As it takes a longtime to do static experiments, the average values can reduce the errors from the disturbs effectively, and the static models are usually reliable. Taking account of the security of the units, usually step response is the only choice in dynamic experiments, and dynamic processes can not last for a long time, moreover, experiments are easily impacted by disturbs, so the dynamic characters are usually too rough to get a good dynamic prediction. As the static models and dynamic models are related, gain scheduling is used in combining the above two models, and a novel approach is realized to construct the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of NOx emissions of utility boilers.
