INVESTIGATION ON THE GASOLINE-RANGE HYDROCARBONS SYNTHESIS OVER CO/SIO2/HZSM-5 CATALYST WITH BIOMASS-DERIVED SYNGAS

IntroductionCobalt-based catalyst is one of the most promising catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS) of long-chain hydrocarbons summarized by Khodakov. HZSM-5 and some mesoporous supports were investigated to obtain aimed clean fuels like branched-high-octane gasoline or diesel. Hydrocracking and hydroisomerization were considered to take place on the acidic surface and the pore channels of the supports, which break the hydrocarbon Anderson-Schultz-Flory (ASF) distribution law limit. A preliminary study from our group also achieved remarkably gasoline-range hydrocarbons with conventional syngas over tailor-made Co/SiO2/HZSM-5.
