EFFECT OF Sm2O3 PROMOTION ON THE MnCl2-H4SiW12O40/SiO2 CATALYST FOR DIMETHYL ETHER DIRECT-OXIDATION TO DIMETHOXYMETHANE
IntroductionDimethoxymethane (DMM, CH3OCH2OCH3), as an important chemical, is widely used in organic synthesis. Recently, as an extraordinarily promising additive to diesel oil with potential apply. Value, DMM has been paid close attention Currently, DMM is mainly produced industrially via the acetalization of methanol with formaldehyde over acidity catalysts. There also exist other synthesis routes, such as the direct synthesis from synthesis gas1 via CO hydrogenation and the selective oxidation of methanol2,3.Dimethyl ether (DME) is a potential and nontoxic chemical feedstock. Furthermore, it is a trend that DME will be produced in industrial scale via one-step synthesis process from syngas. With CH3O-, CH3OCH2-as the basic groups for further organic synthesis, DME can be a starting material for many value added organics. The route of direct oxidation of DME to DMM is one of the attractive utilization routes to develop value added downstream products of DME.
