The Production and Consumption of Chinese Tea
China is the origin of tea tree, and is the earliest country in the world, which discovered and utilized tea. Since founding of New China, especially since the reform and opening-up, tea industry has greatly developed. Nowadays, there are 20 tea-producing provinces, autonomous regions and cities, in which there are about 80 million tea-related people. Tea industry has become an important pillar industry and the preponderant export and foreign currency earning industry of the main tea-production areas. It has made great effects to promotion of agricultural restructuring, increasing farmers income and job opportunities, and the building of socialism new countryside.
