The Present Development Status of Chinese Dark Tea Industry
Dark tea is one of the six large categories of Chinese tea. During Dark tea processing, the color of tea leaves turns to dark due to long period pile-fermentation, and therefore it is called Dark tea. Dark tea is the requisite of daily life for Chinese minority nationalities living in border regions of China, such as Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia etc., there is a saying one can have no food for three days, but cannot have no tea for one day, and also a saying no tea leads to sick. Drinking tea for people of ethnic minorities has special sense, because their main foods are beef, mutton and milk products containing high protein, high fat and other foods not easily to be digested. Therefore, they need to drink strong tea for digestion. Besides, they take few fresh vegetable and fruits, and certain nutrients required for human body should be supplemented from tea.
