Scientific Research System of China Tea and Its Research Progress
1. Scientific research system of China tea 1.1 Establishment of research institution Since the funding of New China, a lot of professional tea research institutions and agriculture universities have been set up consecutively by the central and local government. A technological research and development system of China tea industry composing of professional research institutions such as higher education institutions and academy of agricultural science and enterprises has been formed. In China mainland, there are 13 provincial-or higher-level (including municipality directly under the Central Government) tea research institutes, including 2 state-level professional tea research institutes, 11 provincial-level (municipality directly under the Central Government) tea research institutes, I.e. in Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, Guizhou province and Yunnan Province, and 8 county-(city-) level tea research institutes. There are 11 universities and 11 colleges in China, which have tea specialty, engaging in cultivation of high-grade talents with different levels from professional student, undergraduate student with bachelors degree, masters degree and doctors degree. A batch of Postdoctoral Stations has been built. Meanwhile, they also engaged in tea research and technical services.
