Developing Advantage of Tea Industry in Songyang County and Its Prospect
Songyang is located in the southwest Zhejiang with an area of 1406 km2 and a population of 230,000. Songyang has a long history, the county has been built for more than 1800 years and thus endowed with profound culture and ecological beauty. Wang Wei, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty has vividly described it in his poem Traveling on holidays to Songyang County, hearing nice music over the local Qingjiang River, Shen Hui, a Number One Scholar in Song Dynasty expressed his heartfelt praise in a poem Here is the only Xanadu, which couldnt be fond anywhere. The magnificent mountains and excellent water breed high-quality tea. Songyang tea has enjoyed a good reputation, reportedly even in the history of the Three Kingdoms Period, and the Maoshan Xian Tea in Tang Dynasty was classified as a tribute. Su Dongpo, a famous writer in Northern Song Dynasty, wrote a poem praising Songyang tea, You can neither find so tasteful tea anywhere in the world, nor the so tasteful tea liquid like Tiantai County has. Songyang tea won a Gold Award on the First West Lake Expo in 1929.
