Development of Tea Industry for Construction of the New Countryside
China is the hometown of tea and Sichuan Province is the cradle of tea. Mengding Mountain in Mingshan County is the birthplace of world tea civilization and the origin of world tea culture. The profound tea cultural connotation of Mengding Mountain enjoys high prestige in China and even in the world and it becomes a well-known global holy tea culture mountain.Mingshan County under the jurisdiction of Yaan prefecture of Sichuan Province, islocated at southwestern margin of Chengdu Plain and has been known as hometown ofwonderful tea. It is a small agricultural county and has area of 614km2 and total population260,000, including agricultural population 237,000. It is characterized by warm climate,plentiful rainfall, dense vegetation and unique natural conditions. Mengshan Tea producedin Mingshan County has excellent quality. Mingshan is one of earliest cultivated teagrowing regions in the world and it has 2000 years history in tea-planting since the first teagarden planted by Wu Lizhen in the late Western Han Dynasty. Mengshan Tea was used astribute to imperial court from Tang Dynasty till Qing Dynasty.
