Putting Solid Industrial Foundation and Building A Strong Tea City — Main Measures and Primary Effects of Developing Tea Industry of Shengzhou City, Zhejiang Province
Shengzhou City is in eastern costal region of Zhejiang Province and has warm weather. Its annual mean air temperature is above 16.4 ℃ and annual mean rainfall 1300mm and its tea areas have rich soil and are always surrounded by fog. The good weather and geographic conditions are suitable for growth of tea plant and render Shengzhou tea excellent quality. Shengzhou has a long history in production of tea. It began to plant, process and drink tea from Han Dynasty. In Jin Dynasty, making tea-cake and cooking-drinking of tea were much popularized and in Tang Dynasty Shengzhou became a big and famous tea-producing county in East Zhejiang, and in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty Shengzhou tea became the tribute to the court.
